Which signs should lead you to come in?
A wisdom tooth can stay silent or cause inflammation of the gum covering it. Pain at the back of the mouth, swelling, discomfort when opening, a persistent bad taste or repeated episodes justify an assessment.
In case of progressive swelling, fever or difficulty swallowing or breathing, contact a professional quickly. Difficulty breathing is a matter for 144.
How is the decision to keep or extract made?
The practitioner assesses the position of the tooth, how easily it can be cleaned, the space available, the state of the gum and its relationship with neighbouring structures. An X-ray may be needed to see what the examination cannot reach.
A well positioned tooth with no problem can be monitored. An extraction may be discussed when symptoms, infections or local risks justify it.
How is the extraction prepared?
The preliminary appointment explains the procedure, the instructions and the expected aftermath. The practitioner takes your treatments, history and allergies into account. After the procedure, follow the instructions received and call the practice if the evolution worries you.
Is a wisdom tooth bothering you?
The consultation looks for the cause and decides what comes next.

The practice plans short videos to explain the main treatments. This one will be added once it has been filmed. [VIDEO TO BE CONFIRMED]
